El Barça B en baloncesto, aunque consiguió un ascenso deportivo en la LEB Plata, no competirá en la tercera categoría del baloncesto español y lo seguirá haciendo en la Liga EBA. El Club ha alcanzado un Acuerdo con el Club Baloncesto Salou para el canje de la plaza de la LEB Plata por la plaza de la Liga EBA y, de esta forma, el filial azulgrana jugará la temporada 2022/23 en la Liga EBA.
El Barça sigue apostando por la cuarta categoría del baloncesto español para la formación de sus jugadores. Esta pasada temporada, jugadores como Ubal, Caicedo, Nnaji, Bonilla o Villar ya han debutado con el primer equipo en Euroliga y Liga Endesa. Algunos de ellos tienen una presencia importante en el día a día del equipo.
Recordemos que los de Roger Grimau fueron los mejores del Grupo C en la temporada 2021/22 con un balance de 21-1 y se proclamaron campeones de la categoría tras lograr un final de fase impecable en Huelva con tres victorias en tres partidos.
